Hacienda Guachipelin covers 1600 hectares (3952acres) and borders Las Pailas section of the Rincón de la Vieja National Park. The property is surrounded by three rivers, Río Blanco, Río Colorado in the middle and Río Negro at the end of the property. It starts at an altitude of 400 meters (1312ft), reaching up to 800 meters (2624ft). Of the 1600 hectares (3952acres) of land, 700 hectares (1729acres) are set aside for the conservation of the tropical dry forest; 575 hectares (1420acres) are used as pastureland; and 325 hectares (802acres) are being reforested with species in danger of extinction.

Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin is a truly ecotourism lodge for adventure travel and nature lovers. The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens with native trees, exotic flowers and many types of birds, and it has views to both the Rincon de la Vieja volcano and the Pacific Ocean. Near the reception area, you will find the corrals, where real cowboys and ranch hands begin working in the early hours each day. Also there are many adventure activities like horseback riding, canopy tour, tubing tour on the Rio Negro, and trekking among many other attractions.

ACCOMMODATIONS
This down-to-earth, yet comfortable hotel catering to nature lovers and adventure travelers has 52 rooms: 30 Standard and 18 Superior rooms, all of them have two beds, either two doubles or one double and one single. Each room has a safe deposit box and a private bathroom with hot water heated by the sun on solar panels.
Superior Rooms are bigger and more spacious, and they are located in the newer buildings of the hotel with better views of the area. Standard Rooms are located near the Reception Area, the Swimming Pool and the Bar, and the Cattle Corrals.
